27 March 2012 Message from: Miilagroos, Spain Rice farmer - I'd like to take cdeirt, but it is the same article as this post called "US Navy/Gulf of Guinea" - just a different headline. Oops.But yeah, it points to things to come.The biofuels article is interesting. I wrote a post last august about using coconut oil for biodiesel in small island nations like Fiji and Vanuatu. But my point was to advocate its use very locally with coconuts that are already being grown instead of importing fossil fuel. Vanuatu has been very successful doing this. Shortly thereafter I read about the EU giving incentives for biofuel resulting in corporations deforesting Malaysia to plant unsustainable palm trees and building refineries in Singapore to ship the fuel to the UK and other countries! |

Very very very poor eeindd ! Whatever happened to the concept of customer satisfaction. This hotel should receive no accolades at all. Best, worst more like ! |

27 March 2012 Message from: Berg, Spain Been there got the T shirt. Its a lovely inlsad. The suggestion about the mega tsunami is based on the idea that the earthquakes associated with a volcanic eruption could cause a very large mass of rock on the western side of the inlsad to slip rapidly into the ocean. During the last eruption there was some slumping. It might happen .however, other geologists have disputed this. They claim that the assumptions about the size of the area that might slump are too generous. Forecasting future events is a very inexact science and I don't know who is correct.As to the international terrorist ideas. Falls into the realm of fantasy I think. |

26 March 2012 Message from: Yvette, Spain Hi, I went to palma nova last year, we spent most evenings wklniag the 500 mtrs to magaluf which doesnt sound far but trust me it is, approx 45min walk- when you are in high heels at least an hour!! I know a few people that have been to santa ponsa and i think its more lively than palma nova but not so close to magaluf . Have Fun!!! |
